I found that the New Literacy classroom theory to be very interesting. I think it is very important to prepare students with an education that integrates technology.

The video included on this website is a good way to introduce the importance of using a variety of media to teach children, especially integrating technology on a daily basis. I am interested in learning more about how the New Literacy theory would look like in a classroom today.

There are many teachers that need to see this video. As it said in the video, technology is a tool that will allow students to be engaged while learning. Unfortunately, the resources are not always available.

The video has some very interesting and eye-opening facts about how many teachers do not use technology in their classroom. I am very interested to learn some new ways to use technology in my classroom.

Students of today will need to be technologically literate to land a job when they graduate. As teachers, we need to find how to bring these new technologies into our classrooms, even if we are not already set up with 1 computer for each student. It may mean getting creative with scheduling to use media center computers or computers on wheels. It may mean using the ever dreaded cell phone and iPod. These can be used for podcasts and free mobile note-taking resources.

If the student knows technologies that a teacher has never seen, or is afraid to use, then who truly is the more literate?
